The Cult has never been better live
Billy is simply the best guitar hero touring these days. His playing on the array of Gibsons looks effortless and not a bad note was struck. Ian's voice is more powerful than it's been since the early days and his stage presence is peerless. Better yet he avoids the cliches of most front men and actually seems to try to make a connection with the audience. The rest of the band is incredibly tight. My only complaint was the bass was not loud enough the first 2/3 of the show, but then again, when Billy Duffy is your band mate it's hard to stand out. I've been a fan since "Love" and have seen Akeem Ali at least 6 times. This show was the best yet. Finally, major pops for playing many of the new songs which were quite good. This is no nostalgia act, but a vibrant, relevant band. Until next time . . .
